Lake Shore Center for the Arts will host the premiere of the multimedia play, "Harvest Moon" Sept. 2 and Sept. 6 at 8 p.m. It will be performed each evening in the sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church of Westfield, located on South Portage Street.

The church is also home of Lake Shore Center for the Arts which is located on the upper floor of the business wing. This event is partially made possible through a grant from Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation.

"Harvest Moon" is an original play written by local playwright, Rick Mascaro. This play will especially be of interest to the residents of the area because it takes place in Westfield and revives the memory and personas of many of Westfield's past residents.

The narrator of the story explains to the audience that on Harvest Moon each year, the spirits of many individuals from Westfield's past are free to return from spirit just for one night to visit their beloved home and to talk of their experiences while they were here. The audience will get a true sense of what each individual was like in life as well as a brief glimpse of how they view what has become of their home. Audience members 30 years old or older will be reacquainted with old friends and familiar faces. Those younger will be introduced to individuals that played a vital role in Westfield's history.

This year's production will reintroduce the audience to Frederick S. Johnson, Myrtle Stoofler, Tony Caras, Bill Ross, Kammie Riscili, Mary Northrup, Johnny Foster, The Deutschmeister Band, David Baideme, Joel Hampton, Billie Dibble, Esther Bernges, Mary Leah Mascaro, Chet Jarmolowski, Lucy Carlson and Joann Nixon as well as an overview of the Murray Hill Restaurant and Hotel. The play will also feature musical transitions by local performers as well as pictures of places and of each individual.

This is the first installment of what will hopefully become an on-going theatrical tradition in Westfield. Be sure to see the premiere performance. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased online at either: http://www.lakeshorecenterforthearts or lakeshorecenterforthearts.ticketspice.com/harvest-moon

Phone reservations are taken at 224-2135. Leave your name, phone number and email address as well as the performance date and number of tickets requested and a return call will be placed to confirm the order.
